Director’s Notes

Welcome to Menlo Park Academy!

Families and Friends,

It is my great pleasure to serve the Menlo Park Academy as your School Director. I feel that my approach to leadership and values are aligned with the vision and mission of MPA. We are committed to developing the full potential of our gifted students.

I come to Menlo Park Academy with over 13 years in education and instructional leadership, having taught grades PreK through 12th. Although I have primarily taught science in a formal education setting, some of my most treasured work has come from developing the leadership of young people through my 20 years with the American Youth Foundation. My most recent leadership experience includes running an educational podcast, principalship with the CMSD, and serving as Director of Organizational Health and Staff Development with Lorain City Schools.

I started my adult life as a cartoonist and stand-up comedian before earning my bachelor’s degree in Biology from California State University, Northridge. My teaching career began in Los Angeles while obtaining my license and I eventually decided to enter school administration. I earned a Master’s Degree in School Leadership from Baldwin Wallace University and hold a current principal license. In addition, I am once again working with Baldwin Wallace to obtain my superintendent license this year.

Children are vital part of Menlo Park Academy because of our unique approach to curriculum, individualized learning, and enrichment for gifted learners. I will ensure MPA maintains that standard of excellence as we continue forward. As a parent of two, I understand the importance of serving each child and meeting their individual needs. My personal mission is to offer regular opportunities for you to share your voice with us and to maintain robust communication with you.

Together, we will exceed expectations and create learning environments for gifted students to thrive. Thank you for entrusting Menlo Park Academy with educating you children, and for the opportunity to serve you.
