The Board of Directors
Menlo Park Academy's Board of Directors is responsible for setting the school's strategic goals and establishing policies based on our mission, state laws, and the school's charter.
The volunteer members of the Board represent a diverse set of professional backgrounds and have expertise in the areas of finance, education, technology, operations, non-profit organizations, strategic planning, and fundraising.

Teri Harrison, Board Chair
A founder of Menlo Park Academy, Teri Harrison has more than 20 years of technology management and team leadership experience. Early in her career, she managed a large property and casualty insurance business. She then spent over 10 years managing the messaging environment for a national law firm based in Cleveland, led a team of IT professionals for a large national bank for five years, and now works as a Messaging Design Engineer at Eaton. She holds a BSBA in Marketing and Computer Science from Ohio Northern University and has earned several IT certifications. Teri is the mother of two Menlo Park Academy alumni.
Susan Dornan, MS, RN
Susan Dornan is an improvement RN at University Hospitals St. John Medical Center in Westlake. The North Ridgeville resident is responsible for assessing adherence to published practice standards and quality improvement initiatives in her role with the hospital system. She also serves as a board member for North Ridgeville United Church of Christ and has served on past executive committees for several North Ridgeville PTAs. She and her husband, Kristopher Dornan, have two students at Menlo Park Academy and a son in preschool. She enjoys cooking, serving as a Girl Scout troop co-leader and relaxing with her family’s two dogs.
Dante Giancola is the vice president of government affairs for a Cleveland-based technology company. The Brecksville resident has nearly 20 years experience in communications and government relations, and wants to use that experience to help steer Menlo Park Academy’s development and outreach efforts. He and his and wife, Angie DeRosa Giancola, currently have a daughter at Menlo Park Academy.
Fraser Hamilton is a self-employed environmental consultant, with a Bachelor's degree from the University of Maine at Farmington and a Master's from Temple University. He also studied at Texas A&M University and the University of Dundee in Scotland. Mr. Fraser is the past president of the Euclid Youth Soccer Organization and still organizes the Organization's annual tournament. Fraser was previously a board member of the Euclid Cooperative Preschool and President of the Environmental Division of the Cleveland Engineering Society. He has also served on the Parish Council at St. Mary's Church in Cleveland. He is the father of two Menlo Park Academy alumni and a current student.
Dr. Richard Hronek
A co-founder of Menlo Park Academy, Dr. Hronek has 48 years of educational and leadership experience across the spectrum – elementary, secondary and college levels. Hronek earned his B.S. Ed from Kent State University and Master’s and Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Akron. His experience spans classroom teaching through the superintendence. He has been superintendent of three traditional districts and a charter school management company.
Dr. Hronek and his wife Cindy, a retired gifted teacher, reside in Avon, Ohio. They have two married daughters and are recent grandparents. In their free time the Hronek’s love to travel and share their experiences with the classrooms.
Dr. Suzanne McFarland
Dr. McFarland spent 25 years on the teacher education faculty at the University of Toledo and after her retirement was Head of Teacher Education and Coordinator of the Master’s Program at Defiance College, where she led the department through its first accreditation. She moved to the Cleveland area in 2006 to be close to family as she cared for her husband with Alzheimer’s. Prior to that, she spent 40 plus years in education. Dr. McFarland earned her BS in Elementary Education from Millersville University in PA, a Master’s degree from Temple University in Guidance and Counseling, and a Doctorate in Early Childhood and Child Development from Indiana University. She has taught preschool through sixth grade and spent 6 years as an elementary counselor.
Cindy Wang has more than 12 years of experience in accounting and finance with various corporations across northeast Ohio. She started her career in accounting at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company), and is now a Finance Manager within the Metrohealth System. Cindy holds a Master’s Degree in Accounting from Kent State University, alongside a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from Texas State University San Marcos. She is also the owner of Cleveland Studio for Music and Arts in Westlake.. Cindy is the mother of a current Menlo Park Academy wizard.
